Elden Ring adds three Spectral Steed Attire cosmetics for Torrent
Elden Ring gives players plenty of ways to customize their Tarnished, but the Tarnished Pack also adds a new way to change Torrent’s look. The game now has three Torrent horse armor-style cosmetics, officially known as Spectral Steed Attire. Players can find the Tree Sentinel, Silver of Caria, and Funereal Night appearances in different parts of the Lands Between.
This guide explains how to get every Elden Ring Torrent horse armor, where each one is located, what you need before searching, and how to equip the new appearance at a Site of Grace.
Elden Ring has three Torrent horse armor cosmetics: Tree Sentinel, Silver of Caria, and Funereal Night.
The three items are found in Stormveil Castle, Ranni’s Rise, and Altus Plateau.
These items only change Torrent’s appearance and do not improve speed, health, damage, or stamina.
After collecting one Spectral Steed Attire, use a Site of Grace to change Torrent’s appearance.
The new Torrent cosmetics are part of the Tarnished Pack content. They are called horse armor by many players, but the official in-game name is Spectral Steed Attire. Each option gives Torrent a different visual style, allowing you to match your mount with your character’s armor or preferred look.

As of October 2026, all three Torrent appearances can be collected after you own the required Tarnished Pack content and have reached their respective areas.
You need access to the Tarnished Pack content to find and use the three new Spectral Steed Attire items. The content is included with Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on Nintendo Switch 2. On PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, it is available through the separate Tarnished Pack DLC.
You also need to make enough story progress to reach each location:
Defeat Godrick the Grafted to access the first attire inside Stormveil Castle.
Reach Ranni’s Rise in northwest Liurnia for the Silver of Caria appearance.
Reach Altus Plateau and the Leyndell outskirts for the Funereal Night appearance.
You do not need to defeat a new boss to collect any of the three Torrent cosmetics. However, the regions and buildings containing them are locked behind normal game progression.
How to Get Tree Sentinel Torrent Horse Armor
The Tree Sentinel Spectral Steed Attire is the easiest Torrent armor to collect if you have already defeated Godrick the Grafted.
Start at the Godrick the Grafted Site of Grace in Stormveil Castle. This grace becomes available after you beat Godrick and enter the room where his throne is located.
From the Site of Grace, walk into the large throne room. Do not head out toward Liurnia. Instead, look to the right side behind Godrick’s throne and enter the nearby doorway.
Follow the short path into the side room. You will find a chest waiting there. Open it to receive the Tree Sentinel Spectral Steed Attire.
This is a strong option if you like the gold-and-bronze visual style used by the Tree Sentinel enemies. It pairs especially well with gold armor sets, knight-themed builds, and Faith characters.

Defeat Godrick the Grafted.
Rest at the Godrick the Grafted Site of Grace.
Enter the throne room.
Go through the doorway on the right side behind the throne.
Open the chest to get Tree Sentinel Spectral Steed Attire.
The Silver of Caria Spectral Steed Attire is found at Ranni’s Rise in Liurnia of the Lakes. This is the tower connected to Ranni’s questline and is located after Caria Manor.
To reach Ranni’s Rise, players normally need to explore Caria Manor and defeat Royal Knight Loretta. After the boss fight, continue into the Three Sisters area and enter Ranni’s Rise.
Rest at the Ranni’s Rise Site of Grace on the lower floor. The chest is very close, so you do not need to travel outside or search the upper floors of the tower.
Look behind the small desk or table in the same room as the Site of Grace. The chest is tucked behind the furniture and can be easy to miss if you rush toward Ranni’s room upstairs.
Open the chest to collect the Silver of Caria Spectral Steed Attire.
This Torrent armor has a pale silver style that fits Carian Knight gear, magical builds, and characters using blue-and-silver armor combinations.

How to Get Funereal Night Torrent Horse Armor
The Funereal Night Spectral Steed Attire is the final new Torrent cosmetic. It is located in the Altus Plateau near Leyndell.
Start at the Hermit Merchant’s Shack Site of Grace. This area is near the Capital Outskirts and can be reached after entering Altus Plateau.
From the grace, summon Torrent and ride southeast. Watch for an area that looks like a small memorial or battlefield graveyard. You should see several swords placed in the ground, along with stone markers.
The Funereal Night attire is not inside a chest. It is a glowing ground pickup beside one of the swords in this memorial area.
Pick it up to receive the Funereal Night Spectral Steed Attire.
The dark appearance is a good match for black armor, Night’s Cavalry-inspired outfits, assassin builds, and characters using death-themed weapons or spells.

How to Equip Torrent Horse Armor
After collecting your first Spectral Steed Attire, rest at any Site of Grace. A new menu option will appear that lets you change Torrent’s appearance.
Use the following steps to equip your preferred Torrent armor:
Rest at any Site of Grace.
Select the option to change your spectral steed’s appearance.
Choose Tree Sentinel, Silver of Caria, or Funereal Night.
Exit the menu and summon Torrent to see the new look.
You can switch between unlocked appearances whenever you want. You can also return Torrent to the default appearance through the same Site of Grace menu.
Do Torrent Horse Armors Give Stats?
No, Torrent horse armor does not provide stat bonuses.
The Tree Sentinel, Silver of Caria, and Funereal Night Spectral Steed Attire items are cosmetic only. They do not increase Torrent’s health, speed, stamina, jump height, damage resistance, or mounted combat power.
This means you can choose your favorite appearance without worrying about using the best option for gameplay. All three styles work exactly the same in combat and exploration.
Which Torrent Armor Is Best?
There is no best Torrent armor for stats because all three options are cosmetic. The best choice depends on the look you want for your character.
Pick Tree Sentinel if you prefer heavy gold armor and a classic knight appearance.
Pick Silver of Caria if you use Carian Knight gear, moon sorceries, or silver-and-blue outfits.
Pick Funereal Night if you want a darker look for Night’s Cavalry, assassin, death mage, or black armor builds.
The Tree Sentinel attire may be the most convenient one to collect because it is inside Stormveil Castle after the Godrick fight. The Funereal Night attire may take longer because you need to reach Altus Plateau first.
