Farming Coralum Ore in Palworld 1.0 is easier when you know where to look. You can collect it by salvaging wreckage around Feybreak or catching Whalaska on the Isle of the Glacial Core. Captured Whalaska can then be butchered for more materials, while breeding gives you another supply at your base.
This guide covers both farming methods, the equipment and Pals to bring, and how to turn your Coralum Ore into Coralum Ingots.
| Farming method | What you need | Main advantage |
|---|---|---|
| Catch and butcher Whalaska | Pal Spheres and a way to butcher captured Pals | Collect materials from capturing and again from butchering |
| Salvage ocean wreckage | Fishing Rod, Powerful Fishing Magnets, and a swimming Pal | Gather Coralum Ore while travelling between salvage spots |
| Breed and process Whalaska | Breeding Farm, breeding supplies, and a processing setup | Maintain a repeatable supply alongside other activities |
Catch and Butcher Whalaska for Coralum Ore

Whalaska can drop 2–3 Coralum Ore. Instead of defeating them, capture them so you can butcher them later for another set of drops.
You can find Whalaska on the Isle of the Glacial Core, a small island between the desert and snowy regions. Visit during the day to look for overworld spawns.
Start near the fast-travel statue and check the nearby Pal spawn positions. Whalaska will not appear at every position each time, so move between the two ends of the island:
- Check the spawn positions around the fast-travel statue.
- Capture any Whalaska you find.
- Travel toward the fishing spot on the other side of the island.
- Check the Pal spawns around that area.
- Return toward the statue and check the first area again.

Moving far enough away allows the overworld spawns to reset. This makes the island route more useful than waiting beside one spawn position.
Do not confuse this with refreshing fishing spots. Leaving a fishing spot and returning does not make it immediately available again.
Bring a good supply of Pal Spheres before starting. Capturing requires more supplies than defeating Whalaska, but it lets you collect the initial materials and keep each Pal for later processing.
After your island run, butcher the captured Whalaska with a Meat Cleaver or use a Pal Disassembly Conveyor. Manual butchering works for smaller batches, but handling every Pal individually becomes slow when you have a larger collection.
The Pal Disassembly Conveyor unlocks at Level 56 and makes processing captured and bred Pals more convenient. Return to your base, process your Whalaska, store the Coralum Ore, and prepare your supplies for the next run.

Breed Whalaska for a Repeatable Supply

Breeding gives you another way to maintain your Coralum Ore supply while working on other tasks.
Place a male and female Whalaska in your Breeding Farm, provide the required breeding food, and collect their eggs. Hatch the offspring and process them when you are ready.
This is not a completely hands-off farm. You still need to manage breeding supplies, collect eggs, hatch them, and process the offspring. However, it reduces how often you need to leave your base to catch more Whalaska.
Vegetable Cakes and egg-related Partner Skills can improve your breeding setup. Butchering-related passive skills, including Lavish Hospitality and Service Minded, can also help increase material returns.
You do not need a perfect breeding pair before starting. Begin with the Whalaska you already have, then work on better passives as your farm develops.
Keep manual butchering bonuses separate from conveyor processing. A setup built around a Meat Cleaver should not automatically be treated as identical to a conveyor-based farm.
Salvage Coralum Ore Around Feybreak
Ocean salvaging is the other main way to gather Coralum Ore. Travel around Feybreak and look for floating wreckage.
Before leaving, bring:
- A Fishing Rod.
- Powerful Fishing Magnets.
- A Pal that can travel on water.
Check your mount’s Partner Skill to make sure it supports water travel. Your swimming mount is part of the basic salvage setup, not just a way to move between locations.
Once your equipment is ready, follow these steps:
- Travel to the waters around Feybreak.
- Mount your swimming Pal.
- Search for floating wreckage.
- Approach a salvage spot and begin the salvaging minigame.
- Complete the minigame and collect the materials.
- Continue around the island to find more spots.
Focus on visiting several wreckage locations rather than waiting at one spot. Salvage locations are limited and do not immediately refresh after use.
A basic swimming mount is enough to begin. After that, improve your party based on what is slowing you down.
Jellroy improves the items you obtain from salvaging. Adding one to your party is a useful upgrade when you plan to visit several wreckage spots. Condensing it strengthens its Partner Skill, making it a longer-term improvement for a dedicated salvage setup.
Reptyro and Reptyro Cryst help reduce the weight of Coralum Ore, allowing you to stay out longer before returning to storage. Weight reduction can be more useful than extra movement speed if frequent storage trips interrupt your route.
Movement-speed passives help you travel between wreckage locations, but an extremely fast mount can overshoot small salvage spots and make positioning awkward. Start with one or two useful movement passives rather than focusing entirely on speed.
How to Make Coralum Ingots in Palworld 1.0
The Coralum Ingot recipe unlocks at Technology Level 62. Each ingot requires:
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Coralum Ore | 2 |
| Coal | 5 |
Use a Gigantic Furnace or Ancient Furnace to process the materials.
For example, making 100 Coralum Ingots requires 200 Coralum Ore and 500 Coal. Gather Coal alongside your Coralum supply so you can start smelting as soon as you return.
Choose salvaging if you already have Powerful Fishing Magnets and want a straightforward gathering route around Feybreak. Choose Whalaska farming if you prefer catching Pals or want to combine island runs with breeding at your base.
You can also combine both methods: keep your Whalaska breeding setup running, complete a salvage route, and process the hatched Pals when you return. This gives you two sources of Coralum Ore without depending entirely on one activity.
