The Psycho Bandit outfit was offered through Fortnite’s Item Shop as part of the Psycho Bundle. An earlier promotion also included the bundle with an eligible Borderlands 3 purchase, but that offer has expired. No new official free-unlock method has been established in the information available for this article.
If you want to get Psycho Bandit in Fortnite, the important distinction is between the paid outfit, the expired purchase bonus, and the separate free rewards from the original Borderlands event. These rewards did not all unlock the same cosmetics.
If using an older screenshot, label it “Historical Psycho Bundle listing” so readers do not mistake it for current availability
The original Fortnite–Borderlands anouncement presented the Psycho Bundle as an Item Shop purchase. That is separate from earning a cosmetic through a free event challenge.
Check the current listing inside Fortnite before spending V-Bucks. The information available for this article does not confirm that the bundle is currently on sale or establish its current price.
If you find the bundle in the shop, read the item names and purchase details carefully. Make sure the listing includes the Psycho Bandit outfit rather than another Borderlands-themed cosmetic.
If the bundle is unavailable, there is no confirmed next return date in the supplied information. A previous shop appearance does not guarantee when it will return.
Can You Get the Psycho Bandit Skin Free?
A new official promotion offering Psycho Bandit free to all players has not been verified in the supplied information.
The original offer provided the Psycho Bundle at no additional cost with a qualifying Borderlands 3 purchase through the Epic Games Store. Because players needed to buy the game, this was a purchase bonus, not a completely free reward.
Epic’s original promotional page now states that the offer is no longer available. Buying Borderlands 3 today should therefore not be treated as a confirmed way to receive Psycho Bandit.
Why the expired offer matters
Old promotional details can remain easy to find after an offer ends. However, the original requirements do not automatically apply to a new purchase.
Before buying a game for a Fortnite bonus, check that an active official offer names the reward and explains who qualifies. Without those terms, you should not assume the cosmetic is included.
Free Borderlands Rewards Were Not the Outfit
The original Fortnite–Borderlands crossover included free challenge cosmetics alongside the paid Psycho Bundle.
None of these items was the Psycho Bandit outfit. A spray, banner, or wrap is a separate cosmetic, even when it belongs to the same crossover.
The Psycho Spray is particularly easy to confuse with Psycho Bandit because their names are similar. Earning the spray did not mean unlocking the outfit.
These rewards also belonged to the original event. Their previous availability does not establish that players can earn them now.
Check the exact reward name
When completing a Fortnite quest, read the reward listed in the game. A challenge connected to Borderlands does not necessarily award every item from the collaboration.
The same applies to promotional offers. The cosmetic named in the offer is what matters—not another item with a similar name or theme.
Can a Missing-Item Request Unlock Psycho Bandit?
A missing-item request is not an established method for obtaining an outfit you do not own.
Epic states that its support team cannot grant cosmetics or in-game currency as compensation for encountering or submitting bugs. Support options are intended to help with genuine account and purchase issues, not provide a way to claim a new shop cosmetic.
If something you already own is missing, explain the actual problem accurately. That situation is different from purchasing an outfit or earning a listed quest reward.
There is no verified basis in the supplied information for treating a missing-item request as a free Psycho Bandit unlock.
The original collaboration involved several kinds of rewards. Keeping them separate makes it easier to understand what was offered and what still needs checking.

The main point is simple: a free Borderlands cosmetic is not automatically a free Psycho Bandit outfit.
Before purchasing anything specifically to obtain Psycho Bandit, make sure the current offer names the outfit and explains how it is delivered.
Check these details:
The exact cosmetic name.
Whether the offer is currently available.
Any purchase or account requirements.
The items included in the listing.
The price displayed before confirming payment.
Do not purchase Borderlands 3 based only on the expired promotion. Likewise, do not assume that a Borderlands-themed challenge includes the outfit unless its reward listing says so.
