YouTube Premium Price Increase 2026: New Prices in Spain, Portugal, Italy and Singapore

YouTube Premium is getting more expensive in several countries across Europe and Asia. The latest price increase affects users in places including Spain, Portugal, Italy, Finland, Romania, and Singapore, with some plans rising by nearly 17%.

Google says the higher fees will help the company continue improving YouTube Premium while supporting the creators and artists viewers watch. For many existing members, the updated prices will begin on their next billing date on or after September 23, 2026.

The exact increase depends on where a subscriber lives and which plan they use. Here are the key reported changes.

The biggest reported percentage jumps are in Portugal and Italy. The individual price in those markets is increasing by about 16.7%, while the Family plan is going up by roughly 15.4%.

Spain’s YouTube Premium Price Rise Explained

In Spain, the standard YouTube Premium Individual plan is reportedly moving from €13.99 to €15.99 per month. That is an increase of €2 every month, or €24 more across a full year for people who remain subscribed.

Some early reports grouped Spain with the €25.99-to-€29.99 Family plan increase. However, the reported Family price change has been linked to Portugal and Italy. YouTube may have different prices and plan options in each country, so members should check the email sent to their account or their YouTube membership page before reporting a local price.

Singapore Premium Plans Also Cost More

Singapore is also part of the new wave of YouTube Premium price changes. The Individual plan is increasing from S$13.98 to S$15.98 per month, while the Family plan is rising from S$27.98 to S$31.98 monthly.

The Singapore increase is about 14% for both the Individual and Family tiers. New customers reportedly started seeing the revised prices from August 21, while current members will be charged the new amount during a billing cycle at least 30 days after receiving notice.

Singapore users are also seeing changes to lower-cost options:

Premium Lite is a cheaper subscription, but it does not offer every benefit included with full YouTube Premium. For example, YouTube has said ads can still appear in some places, including music content, Shorts, and search or browsing experiences.

When Will the New Prices Start?

YouTube’s price-change notices say the new prices will apply from the next billing date on or after September 23, 2026 in the affected markets.

That does not mean every user will be charged on the same day. For example, if someone’s billing date is September 25, they may pay the new price then. If their billing date is earlier, the higher price could appear in a later billing cycle.

Some European subscribers may also need to accept the updated membership price. One reported notice in Romania says users must agree to the new rate by October 10, 2026, or their subscription will end. The exact deadline and process may differ by country, so subscribers should read the email from YouTube carefully.

Why Is YouTube Premium Going Up in Price?

Google has told subscribers that the change will help it “continue to improve Premium and support the creators and artists you watch.”

YouTube’s official support page says membership prices may change due to market conditions. These can include inflation and changes to local taxes. Google has not publicly given a country-by-country breakdown explaining why each affected market received a specific price increase.

This is also not the first major YouTube Premium increase in 2026. YouTube previously raised prices in the United States, where the Individual plan moved to $15.99 per month and the Family plan moved to $26.99 per month.
