RTX 40-series GPU owners can now test NVIDIA DLSS Multi Frame Generation through an unofficial mod. The mod unlocks 3X and 4X Frame Generation modes on RTX 40 cards, even though NVIDIA officially keeps Multi Frame Generation exclusive to the newer RTX 50 series.

The workaround was briefly broken by NVIDIA’s DLSS-G 310.9 update, but modders quickly released a new version that works again. This gives RTX 40 users a look at one of NVIDIA’s newest AI gaming features, but it also comes with important limits, risks, and performance concerns.

RTX 40 DLSS Multi Frame Generation Mod Explained

How the RTX 40 MFG Unlock Works

The RTX 40 Multi Frame Generation unlock does not replace DLSS with AMD FSR Frame Generation or Lossless Scaling. Instead, it reportedly uses NVIDIA’s own DLSS-G Multi Frame Generation code.
